What’s on in Bolzano
From fun nights out to cultural events, Bolzano has something for every taste. In summer, the old town turns into an open-air venue where young and old come together to eat, drink and chat in good company. There’s something going on all year, with the local culture centres organising a variety of theatre shows, concerts, festivals and other events.
The Gourmet Festival in May and the Bolzano Wine Tasting festival in March are both events you don’t want to miss if you are a real connoisseur. In summer, the South Tyrol Jazz Festival, the KLANGfeste at Runkelstein Castle and the Bolzano Bozen Festival attract scores of music enthusiasts. Those who are into dancing will love the workshops and performances offered at the Bolzano Danza/Tanz Bozen festival in July. On 10th August, the arcades fill with stands serving wine and delicacies to celebrate the yearly night of shooting stars. The Transart festival in September is one of the most important festivals for contemporary culture in Italy.
The Bolzano Christmas Market in Walther square is an absolute must for anyone visiting between the end of November and 6th January, while sports enthusiasts love the BOclassic – the international road running competition held every year on New Year’s Eve.
